There's a new Mexican street food restaurant in Abu Dhabi and its opened its doors in Yas Bay on Yas Island. La Carnita, which is already popular in Dubai and Canada, promises to offer a luxe vibe, a good soundtrack, and great food - from tacos and nachos to ceviche and churros.
Staying true to their roots and ensuring they have something to suit everyone, La Carnita Abu Dhabi will be hosting brunch, happy hour, ladies’ night, and a special menu for kids,
When you visit the restaurant you'll be met with neon signage and street art, plus wood panelling and a mix of rattan style furniture. It's all been put together by Canadian designer Ian Rydberg, Founder & Principal Designer of Solid Design Creative and many of the seating areas are arranged into booths decked out with red leather sofas, which offer a semi-private dining feel. Alternatively, you can choose to sit outside on the terrace and dine al-fresco, taking in the stunning views across the water and across Yas Island.
“La Carnita Abu Dhabi is more grown up and elevated, showcased by the urban design, music, uniform, and bar program, all of which have been carefully curated by myself and the team. La Carnita Brunch
A Mexican fiesta awaits you every Saturday from 1-4pm. As plates are brought to the table, you can indulge in sharing platters to start which include spiced fries, dips and chips, Hamachi ceviche and Cali salad. A choice of one quesadilla is on offer next, with flavours including beef, achiote chicken or mushroom, alongside a pick of two varieties of taco. And for that sweet ending, dessert arrives in the form of churros to share at the table.
If you are thinking of taking the Spicy offering (La Carnita’s alcoholic package), you'll be able to choose from red and white grapes, selected spirits and two specially crafted margaritas.

Join the Latino festivities straight after work, every Friday from 4pm-7pm! Head to La Carnita for a live DJ and make the most of happy hour where drinks are only AED 25 each. You can choose from the special menu which offers sparkling, grapes, premium spirits, and classic margarita.

La Carnita Ladies’ Night
The females of the capital can enjoy free-flowing margaritas from 8pm-11pm every Thursday, as they immerse themselves in the beats from the live DJ who’ll be filling the air with old school hip-hop and RnB tunes throughout the evening. A la carte menus are available for anyone needing that nacho or taco fix.

Family is the most important aspect in Mexican tradition and the kids aren’t forgotten at La Carnita Abu Dhabi, with a specially designed kids’ menu. Your little ones can choose snacks such as chips and guac, butter corn or French frie sand for the younger ones with a bigger appetite, mains including quesadilla and crispy chicken are also on the menu.
With a choice of sweet treats such as churros, ice cream or paletas (a Mexican frozen lolly in either key lime, or cookie monster flavour), youngsters will have everything they need for their very own Mexican feast.
